About the Medical Industry Leadership Institute
As a dynamic addition to Minnesota's thriving healthcare economy, the Medical Industry Leadership Institute (MILI) puts executives, physicians, students, and academic leaders in touch with the latest trends in the medical industry. In addition to building on the strengths of the Carlson School's world-class faculty, MILI draws on the University of Minnesota's scientific, technical, policy, legal, and ethics expertise and leverages the concentration of medical industry firms in Minnesota.
MILI gives MBA students opportunities to prepare for leadership-track careers in functional areas of the medical industry including finance, marketing, consulting, operations, and information technology. Students admitted to either the Full-Time or Part-Time MBA program at the Carlson School can choose a medical industry specialization, drawing knowledge from a wide variety of courses at Carlson as well as other colleges at the University of Minnesota to enhance their understanding of the medical industry.
MILI has built a responsive infrastructure to support faculty and students as they conduct timely, rigorous research in partnership with top medical industry organizations, research centers, and institutes within the University of Minnesota and beyond.
Advisory boards for MILI (faculty council, faculty affiliates, and National Industry Council) support its education and research agenda, and advocate for MILI within the Carlson School, throughout the University of Minnesota community and with local and national medical industry firms.
